Both American and C.I.S. forces also have a tactical nuclear force. These weapons are designed for use directly in the battlefield. They can be delivered by gravity-bombs, short-range missiles, or by long- range cannons. Tactical nuclear weapons have a much lower yield than their strategic counterparts. A standard tactical nuclear bomb will have a yield of 100 kilotons. A warhead on a tactical missile will have the same yield as the bombs dropped on Japan (about 20 kilotons).
